These are my personal favorite!!
Here’s a step-by-step recipe for Soft, Gooey Cannabis-Infused Chocolate Brownies that are delicious and potent. The key to achieving strength and consistency is making a proper cannabis-infused butter (cannabutter) first.
Ingredients
For the Cannabutter:
• 1 cup unsalted butter
• 7-10 grams of cannabis (decarboxylated)
For the Brownies:
• ½ cup cannabis-infused butter (cannabutter)
• ½ cup regular unsalted butter (for balance; adjust based on strength preference)
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup packed brown sugar
• 4 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• ½ teaspoon baking powder
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Step 1: Decarboxylate the Cannabis
1. Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C).
2. Break the cannabis into small pieces and spread it evenly on a baking sheet.
3. Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring halfway through, to activate the THC.
Step 2: Make the Cannabutter
1. In a saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter over low heat.
2. Add the decarboxylated cannabis.
3. Simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil.
4. Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth to remove plant material.
5. Let the cannabutter cool and solidify in the refrigerator.
Step 3: Make the Brownies
1. Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the cannabutter and regular butter over low heat. Once melted, whisk in the cocoa powder until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy. Slowly add the melted butter and cocoa mixture, stirring constantly.
4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully incorporated.
5. Add Chocolate Chips: Stir in the chocolate chips for extra gooeyness.
6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
7. Cool and Serve: Let the brownies cool for at least 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
Tips for Potency
• Strength Control: Adjust the amount of cannabis in the butter depending on desired potency. For stronger brownies, use more cannabis in your cannabutter.
• Test First: Start with a small portion (half a brownie or less) and wait 1-2 hours before consuming more.
• Storage: Store brownies in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer to maintain freshness and potency.
